Review

The romance of the old west is still alive and going strong in this tender and funny tale. A read the true romantic won't want to miss. Three friends of Matthias Barrington have placed an advertisement in the San Francisco Morning Chronicle to get him a wife. And they know how he'll react. They figure he'll explode when they tell him the news. Abigail Smith is being used as a servant in her uncle's house and not happy with the prospect of never having her own family. She responds to the ad in the paper for a wife and soon finds herself on the way to Montana. The meeting between Matthias and Abby is not as she had dreamed. He has made it clear he doesn't want a fife but she is stuck in town until she can earn enough money to move on. A heartwarming tale with all the touches to satisfy any reader. You will come to lovee the Montana ranch and its people and the town, both of which are populated by people you'd love to call friend. Highly recommended as an enjoyable story written by the very talented author, Mary Burton. You'll be looking for other books by this author once you read The Unexpected Wife.
