Do you like small towns and stories about small town sheriffs? If so, this is one for you, a story where family is important and you can share the warmth found in their affection for one another. Out for a walk in his niece's back yard and being chased by a rooster, Sheriff Joe Dalton stumbles over his next cast. Literally. The body of an old woman. A twisted tale of murder that had its roots in a death almost forgotten, until an old school teacher remembered and made the connection. Several subplots are woven together to create the whole, reaching from local politicians to mysterious seeming wholesale deaths of elderly in the local nursing home. This is a tale that will please any mystery reader who likes the unexpected. Recommended as a fun read by a talented writer. Enjoy. I did.
