Review

A great read. Regardless of the genre listed, once you begin reading this book will keep you reading. An investigation into a very strange murder involves the local sheriff, a witch, a ghost, and a great cast of characters you'll really enjoy meeting. Written by the very talented T.L.Schaefer, The Brotherhood is a series of surprises fwith suspicion casting its net in many directions. The dead man belonged to the religio-military group called The Brotherhood that is led by Reverend Charles Montcliff and the reverend is demanding possession of the body in spite of state law ordering an authopsy. But the reverend also said he wanted to identify the killer. The reader will wonder if he is serious or trying to cover his tracks. Is he hiding something? Set in the isolated area of the California mountains near Modesto, this tale takes us behind the scenes of how the cult-like groups believe and behave. Sheriff Doug Brewster must face the heavily armed men of The Brotherhood in his investigation of more than one death and death threats against a woman he calls friend when enemies from her past turn up. A story with loads of action, loads of surprises for the reader. A clever tale you will definitely enjoy. It should be read slowly so you don't miss any of the secrets that are dangled tantalizingly before you by very tlented author T. L. Schaefer. A very satisfying read.
