Review

A bold tale of magic, mystery and murder in Ireland's dim past when people found shelter in the shadows of mighty castles. Any fantasy fan will enjoy never To Love. Ciannait sees her father murdered in a raid on their village, a fight that left her and her mother the only survivors. They seek shelter with her uncle Eoghan who soon decides she must marry and selects the groom without consulting her. Ciannait has vowed she will never love until her father's murder is avenged, but goes along with the plan as the best way to escape her uncle's menacing presence. On meeting the groom-to-be and his father, she soon realizes she has seen them before and where. Then she learns why Lorcan has been selected as her future husband and that her life is threatened. Author Mary Ann Carman has done an excellent job in describing life in the uncertain times when Ciannait lived. The background and people come alive as you read, the intrigue will keep you reading. Recommended as a fun read, well worth the time.
