Review

Ever feel drawn to an antique shop as if something was compelling you to enter? Vella Frazier had that experience and found herself suddenly involved in a situation so strange as to be unbelievable. She wanted a French ormulu clock and wound up with an additional item, a gift from the store's proprietor. That gift brought strangers to her door, strangers with an emphasis on 'strange'. They changed her life forever. Talented author Jane Toombs draws the reader quickly into sharing a supernatural experience with her characters so they seem like old friends as they uncover the dark secrets that could ruin their lives. Beneath the full moon in Minnesota, emotions run high as Vella and one of her visitors try to return control of their lives to two others who are afflicted with an inherited curse. Mystery abounds. Your skin will prickle as you peer through darkened windows with Vella wondering what roams the woods at night that makes a locked bedroom door a necessity and worrying that her bedroom on the second floor is high enough. A story with plenty of action and lots of surprises. A real page turner!
