Review

Attention cozy mystery lovers. A new series starring Hannah Fogarty begins with this tale. Told in the modern cozy style, this is one of those stories written by a talented author with a gentle, understanding touch and sure knowledge of the human psyche. Hannah has returned to the place where she grew up, Lake Fork, Texas, to the welcoming arms of her family, bringing with her a daughter named Emma and a blind cat. Other than coming out of a bad marriage, Hannah does not bring with her any major problems to distract the reader. Shortly after Hannah's return, a young woman dies under suspicious circumstances and the gossip mill of Canton and other small towns in the area name Hannah's sister, Ruth, as having a motive to have done the deed. This gives Hannah a reason to search for the truth. Talented Cindy Daniel has written a fun story with lots of great characters who offer plenty of potential for future tales. A variety of subplots, red herrings, and clues keep the story moving and offer an interesting read. Recommended by a satisfied reader. Enjoy.
