Review

Fantasy readers--get ready for a fun read as Baris tries to find his runaway wife, Anika, while traveling in the company of Dierdre who isn't what she claims. This is a tale with well-drawn characters and tightly constructed plot to hold your interest and keep the pages turning. Baris is a Vector, a shape-shifting creature who needs fresh blood meals to survive and Anika is a human witch and member of a clan that needs the services of Vectors because they produce too much blood. While most Vectors don't intermarry with humans, Baris did and he and Anika have a son. Baris doesn't understand his wife's sudden wish to be rid of him, but tries to accept it. As he travels with Dierdre in the hunt for Anika, he finds himself drawn to Dierdre and is strongly tempted to forget his wife. You will meet some interesting characters in the pages of this story. Just when you think the plot is running straightforward, the talented author gives it an unexpected twist that will draw you on. Recommended as an adventure in a different kind of fantasy. Well worth the time.
