Review

For the fantasy reader looking for adventure and excitement, Windreaper will fill the bill. Another in the continuing tale of Conar MacGregor who has been separated from the woman he loves. Freed from the Labyrinth where victims of the Domination were sent, Conar recovers his strength and undergoes a ritual that gives him the power needed to battle and defeat the Domination. But his inner torment continues to imprison his soul and heart, as much as his body was held prisoner in the Labyrinth. He becomes his own worst enemy, even as he leads his men into battle, as he is careless of his own safety. He seeks forgetfulness that cannot be found and eventually does return to Boreas Keep where he once lived to face Elizabeth who is now married to his brother. Talented Charlotte Boyett-Compo will keep you fascinated with her knowledge of the human heart and the depth of emotions it knows. In the cast of well-drawn characters you will find great compassion and evil of the worst kind existing on the same plane, each turning outward to touch others. Recommended as a fun read, one that have you looking for the rest of the series with which to pass many pleasant hours. Enjoy.
