Looking for a book you can feel as well as read, then pick up a copy of Stilled. This 80- page take along book consists of three short stories: Stilled, Mary and Unnoticed Wonder that will reach the very depths of your womanly soul.
Author Kirsten Schmidt explores the wonder of being a woman in her trilogy.
The first story, Stilled takes us through the stages of discovery as shy ballerina, Rose becomes successful but dissatisfied. Who is she? Why is she here? What is her purpose? The reader experiences all of the heart wrenching emotion as Rose searches for her true self.
Mary is the story of two old friends struggling to keep their friendship alive. Sarah and Mathilde met once a month without fail to relive their sworn eternal devotion to one another, which unfortunately has become more habit than deep-seated need. Can they revive the passion of their youthful friendship? One afternoon, Sarah shares a secret with Mathilde that ignites the flame of friendship and sharing, dimmed over the years by separate lives.
Unnoticed Wonder, the third short story tells of one woman’s dream in which she explores the very soul of her existence. Her new identity in the dream allows her to see her world from an entirely different perspective, opening her heart to her true self.
Kirsten Schmidt studied ballet and attended Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts. Her degree in philosophy, certification as a professional chef and English-as-a Second Language administration experience all contribute to the realism of her book.
Woman of all ages will identify with Stilled. Heartfelt literary style of author Schmidt will stay with you long after you read the final page. Highly recommended. Short, sweet and to the point – an excellent read.
