Review

You can't go home again - this is what John Hartwaylearned when he came out of prison and tried to restart his life as an editor for an underground newspaper. A member of the anti-war movement from the Viet Nam era, he finds times and people have changed, but he doesn't think he has. As he tries to find his niche in the world, John becomes involved with a murder and attempted murders on men who closely resemble one another and sets out to solve the riddle. He crosses paths with another old radical gone straight and risen to power. In this well-written tale of close calls and chilling events, talented author William Fietzer will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as John is drawn deeper and deeper into danger. This is one of those books that will satisfy many types of readers and I recommend it gladly as both interesting and intriguing. Penal Fires crosses several genre lines to include mainstream and mystery, among others. Enjoy.
