Attention fantasy and romance readers -- This book is a keeper!! It's one you might ifnd yourself reading more than once just to be sure you've met all the characters.

Author Elizabeth Burton has created a delightful world peopled with delightful characters. You will love them all, even the villains. And it will take you right back to your childhood with it's once-upon-a-time flavor.

The king is dead! Long live the queen -- even if she is so ugly she has to keep her face covered. And like Sir Christopher Evergild, the Royal Champion, you will wonder what's behind that cover. Is this new Queen Jahmelle really so hideous?

Abernal is a peaceful, moderately wealthy nation surrounded by greedy neighbors whose interest is aroused with the death of the king. Will the new queen be able to keep the peace and her throne?

In the reading of The Ugly Princess you will find enough adventure, magic, mystery, romance, and much more to satisfy any reader. Go adventuring with Sir Christopher to the land of the Trolls, meet Bartrim, head of the palace staff, and his lovely wife and see how their fortune is affected by the king's fate. And meet the many villains who are everything you want and expect, both individually and collectively. Great fun!!

It is with pleasure I highly recommend this book to any reader. Put on your traveling shoes and take the journey to Abermal, land of enchantment.
