A Children’s Picture Book

Brad and Emily’s Treasure Adventure is a perfect little “Come-Sit-by-Me-and-Read” book.
The poem, about two children who find dirt roads that lead to fun, is both written and illustrated by Mary Hubley. I loved the bright, open picture pages!
This book also has a back page that is much like a value-added package for parents. There are wonderful little tidbits about pirates and treasure to help broaden the reading experience. There’s also a list of things for parents and children to do together that will build on the time they spent with Brad and Emily between the pages of this book.

(The reviewer, Carolyn Howard-Johnson is a columnist for the Pasadena Star News
and her award-winning novel, This is the Place, was just published by AmErica House.
One reviewer called it a “Book for its Time” because it explores intolerance. Find out more at
