Romance at its finest. A tale for any romance fan guaranteed to satisfy from the first to the last page. John Grayson, hungover and hurting from a terrible dream, opens his door and gets the surprise of his life. A woman he didn't marry is claiming to be his wife and she promptly presents him with another surprise. Maggie Delaney doesn't know what she will do when the man who opens the door to her says he isn't her husband. Too late, she realizes he is right. Two lives in total disarray because of personal tragedies are brought together through a misunderstanding that could be comical if the story behind it wasn't so sad. However, it isn't and things quickly get out of hand when well meaning relatives take charge of Maggie. She goes to live with Grayson's family and they accept her as his wife. To add to the problems, the false husband arrives on the scene. He is as surprised as Maggie is when they confront each other. The problems mount and John and Maggie wonder if they'll ever find their ways out of the maze they've created. Talented Diane Perkins gives the reader a look into the past when life wasn't as simple as it seemed and position was everything. You'll find yourself hoping Maggie and John can overcome their problems, but they do seem insurmountable. Highly recommended as a very enjoyable read.
