Attention horse and mystery enthusiasts. This is a book you will thoroughly enjoy as it is a great blend, using Arabian horse shows as a background for murder. Ellen McKenzie isn't a horse person, but her daughter, Susannah, is and for that reason, Ellen is attending a horse show. Imagine her horror when she opens a tack stall door to get a horse blanket and finds the body of a missing groom, with a pitchfork thrust through his middle. So begins a well told tale of the search for a killer and the why of such a murder. You can feel the danger to Ellen and Susannah lurking on the fringes as the story unfolds, yet they aren't deeply involved in the horse business. Could the surly transport driver or his wife be involved, or the bad tempered trainer Bryce and his groupie, Stephanie, have something to do with Rusty's death? Or perhaps Chovalo, trusted handler? What would they have to tain by killing a boy who wasn't too well liked? An exciting story with a great cast of well-drawn characters will hold your attention page by page. Recommended as a fun read, well worth the time, written by the very talented author, Kathleen Delaney. You'll be glad you picked it to read. Enjoy. I sure did.
